[ QUOTE ]
The one point that I dont hear made much is this. People talk of the "Manning gene pool" and the tradition and being groomed to play QB. People forget though, part of that tradition and genes from papa Manning is losing. I would agree, his team was not very good. But look at the fact Daddy never had a winning season I think.

Archie Manning was a great QB who would be mentioned today in the same sentence with Roger Staubach and Terry Bradshaw, other QBs of that era who were considered the best at their positions. The fact of the matter is that Terry and Roger had the best personnel around them in the league at that time. The Saints weren't nicknamed the "Aints" for nothing. I saw Archie play many times, and the fault was not his by any stretch of the imagination.
Eli and Peyton are chips off the old block, in that they are a class-act off the field, on the field. You can't put the blame of this past Giants season on Eli any more than you can put the blame on Romo or Bledsoe for Dallas' season. The D simply was not there for either team when it counted most, and we all know that D is what wins championships.
